Non-invasive diagnostic tools used to identify internal issues and provide targeted medical care.
At Annex Animal Hospital we offer modern, safe diagnostic imaging services including digital x-rays and ultrasound. These advanced diagnostic tools assist our veterinarians with the diagnosis and treatment plan for your pet’s medical condition. Our modern digital x-ray imaging system provides quality images within a short time span for diagnostic purposes. We can easily share all digital x-ray and ultrasound diagnostic images should your dog require the services of a specialist.
X-ray images are a commonly used tool that allows our veterinarians to visualize your pet’s internal systems. We use cutting-edge digital radiography to screen for foreign objects, injuries, and abnormalities.
Digital dental x-rays can also be used to image your pet’s mouth during their dental exam. This technique gives us more detailed views of your pet’s teeth, roots, gums, and surrounding bone. This allows our veterinarians to diagnose bone loss or any hidden disease that could negatively affect your pet’s oral health.
Ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging tool used to visualize internal organs and soft tissues. Ultrasound images can be used to diagnose diseases of the heart, lungs, and abdominal organs such as liver, kidneys, and pancreas. For your convenience, we provide cardiac and abdominal imaging services on site.
If your dog is booked in for an x-ray, we always recommend fasting after midnight before his or her exam the following day. This will prepare your dog should a light sedative be required during the process of positioning them for an x-ray. It is our goal to achieve good quality diagnostic images while minimizing anxiety and keeping your dog comfortable during this procedure. For this reason, we may recommend sedation for your dog.
It is our policy to offer our clients treatment options so that they are able to have input into the most appropriate course of action for their pet. We provide recommendations, treatment plans and the estimated costs associated with them in order for you to make informed decisions about your pet’s treatment options. Our veterinarians will be happy to provide a written treatment plan that is appropriate for your pet’s specific medical requirements during a consultation.
